Compensation Design Manager
This role will have the opportunity to lead exciting compensation design initiatives as part of an amazing team enabling TSMC-AZ to competitively recruit, attract, and retain top-level semiconductor talent. The role will require deep and diverse Compensation experience to lead program and design development in the Total Rewards function. You are comfortable and successful at managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously. You are responsible for leading and executing compensation design projects in alignment with company and business strategy to achieve desired site impact. Demonstrated experience and success in solving complex issues with comprehensive data driven business-oriented, and total rewards centered quantitative and qualitative analysis. Provides recommendations for new and existing programs. Partners with the Compensation delivery team to ensure the day-to-day administration and communication of Compensation programs support our Pay-for-Performance philosophy. This position will provide guidance to junior staff as required and will eventually have direct reports.
Compensation Design Manager:
- Through management and analysis of complex data sets and stakeholder engagement delivers strategic insights, recommendations, and solutions that support TSMC’s core business goals and values, through best-in-class compensation design and delivery of short-term strategic programs.
- Leads and performs comprehensive pay analyses to ensure optimal solutions are put forth for both core and new compensation programs. Measures program success and adjusts design(s) as necessary. Leads development of core data models.
- Engages with vendors, key stakeholders, and global TRD partners to align and propose comprehensive solutions to site challenges in support of strategic direction. Supports overseas/global change initiatives and initial process design with company transformation.
- Stays abreast of compensation trends and develops recommendations to support business initiatives as assigned, typically related to overseas or site compensation involving Arizona or North America region.
- Partners within the Compensation Design and Delivery team and among impacted HR and business stakeholders to ensure proposed/developed solutions can be implemented. Shorter term initiatives may be administered within the design team.
- Informs and influences senior leaders.
- Performs area audits and ensures control instructions and standard operating procedures are documented.
- Mentors and/or manages other design staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in compensation, consulting, or related field in a high-growth, fast paced environment required.
- Bachelor's degree required with a strong background in data/quantitative analysis such as Finance, Statistics, or Economics preferred.
- Experience building compensation programs, managing projects, and scaling processes with company growth.
- Experience working with base pay and incentive plans, required.
- Experience working with job/salary structures required.
- Experience with global compensation preferred.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Ability to present and distill complex topics in a concise and meaningful manner to diverse stakeholders.
- Must be able to independently problem solve and work under pressure in a deadline driven, rapidly changing organization.
- The ability to gain alignment and represent a common point of view across multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
- Flexibility to work extended time. On-site role.
