Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers’ products. In 2023, the company served 528 customers with 11,895 products for high performance computing, smartphones, IoT, automotive, and consumer electronics, and is the world’s largest provider of logic ICs with annual capacity of 16 million 12-inch equivalent wafers. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and its ESMC subsidiary plans to begin construction on a fab in Germany in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.
Job Responsibilities
1. Monitor, analyze, and report on any change of US/TW/JP/EU trade controls, sanctions, and related regulations. 
2. Review, prepare, submit, and manage any export compliance related classifications, license applications, and/or reporting requirements as needed. 
3. Review hiring practices and requests with regard to deemed export regulations.
4. Establish and/or update internal export control rules for different sites in different countries.
5. Work closely with TSMC customers, vendors and internal stakeholders to address export control-related matters.
6. Prepare and/or update export compliance training materials.
Job Qualifications
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English are required.
2. License to practice law in Taiwan or in the U.S. is preferred.
3. Engineering educational background is required. 
4. Semiconductor-related job experience is a plus.
5. Experience in international trade or export control is a plus.
