Job Description:

The TSMC Arizona Legal Department seeks an experienced paralegal with a keen eye for detail, a passion for project management and planning, and proficiency in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint and Legal Tracker, as well as the ability to master other software programs used by the company.  In this position, you will display a strong sense of reliability, enthusiasm, organization and communication, and demonstrate our core values – Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.

 

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Creating tracking and coordination tools and engaging with internal stakeholders to maintain current information for such areas as:
    • Commercial claims, liens, and litigation;
    • HR legal matters;
    • Internal Legal Department deadlines;
    • Litigation deadlines; and
    • Compliance matters.
  • Helping prepare Department activity reports and training materials;
  • Assisting with routine dispute resolution and civil litigation procedures, including arranging and preparing for mediation, implementing litigation holds, and ensuring timely court filings;
  • Managing contracts for internal review and approval, archival, and retrieval;
  • Tracking law department budgets and expense accounting; and
  • Processing outside counsel invoices and payment.

 

Requirements include:

  • A college degree or paralegal certification, plus a minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience, including significant in-house law department experience.
  • Familiarity with legal matters and documents routinely encountered in an in-house law department, such as corporate filings required to maintain good standing, board of directors resolutions and meeting minutes, civil litigation procedures, contracts, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Demonstrated competency in business and technical writing, proofreading, and composition with the ability to synthesize law, outside counsel advice, and data, and render clear, insightful summaries. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain basic legal principles and procedures to internal clients. 
  • Capacity to work independently on routine matters, prioritize assignments, and keep projects on task and on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take direction from and work with a diverse group of attorneys covering a wide range of legal practice areas.
  • Desire to take on new challenges and engage in continuous learning.

 

Mandarin language skill is valued but not required.
