As an industrial Safety & Health Engineer Intern you will have a chance working with various departments to implement safety protocols and environmental initiatives. This collaborative aspect of the job can be rewarding for individuals who enjoy working with others towards a common goal. All interns will be a part of a 10-week technical development program within our state-of-the-art semiconductor facilities. This program is designed to identify future engineering leaders of TSMC Arizona. The development program will offer valuable industry and functional insight. You will have the opportunity to have a mentor and learn from senior engineers and executives at the company.

1. Organize and evaluate hazards for each module (ionizing radiation, laser, gas and chemicals)

2. Risk assessment module activities

3. Cooperate with module and revisit the high-risk work SOP

4. On-site observation PMs with SOP

What you will learn & how you will contribute: (start with writing what they will do, and then rewrite it to communicate what they will learn, instead.) only put 4-5 total.

Example: You will be responsible for creating all process maps for process A to C.

Instead, write “you will learn how to establish processes and procedures, communicate changes, and finalize requirements vital to the success of the X group”

  1. You will learn how to organize the tool hazards.
  2. You will be tasked with identifying and addressing potential risks and hazards in the workplace.  This can be intellectually stimulating and satisfying for individuals who enjoy problem-solving.  
  3. You will learn how to collaborate with other departments and implement safety protocol.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and have:

  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university, in one of the following degree programs: Bachelors/Masters,
    • Major Chemical Engineering,
    • Master’s in Public Health (MPH),
    • Environmental Engineering
  • Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site at our Phoenix location from
    • Semester system: May 19, 2025 – August 1, 2025  
    •  Quarter system: June 16, 2025 – August 29, 2025.
  • Technical skills based on specific modules: NA
  • Strong communication, computer, presentation, listening, working with others needed to contribute to the team and TSMC Arizona’s culture.
  • List physical requirements here (other than those common across all jobs – e.g, lifting, bending or extended walking requirements).
