To help us build the foundation of our future fab in Dresden, we are looking for a highly motivated and passionate: 

Senior Legal Counsel

The role:

This senior position to set up the legal function on the ground in Dresden for ESMC requires strong project management skills, business acumen, the ability to work under pressure, efficient and effective processing and prioritizing of multiple projects that have competing deadlines, and attention to detail. The successful candidate also needs good interpersonal skills and the strong motivation to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment that demands interaction with various functions.
Job Responsibilities
1. Lead and provide local legal support for all TSMC activities in Germany.
2. Support key transactions, review and draft contracts to enable businesses with key partners, suppliers and stakeholders.
3. Manage and collaborate with outside counsels to advance the organizational goal and legal positions, as well as internal bridge within ESMC and with TSMC in Amsterdam and Taiwan, especially with the facilities team.
4. Support other legal compliance areas such as antitrust, export control, corporate governance, employment and others.
Job Qualifications
Qualifications and Education:

1. German law degree and bar exam. (2. Staatsexamen) 
2. Minimum of 10 years of legal experience on commercial. transactions preferably with combination of civil construction law and/or public permitting rules and regulations .
3. Ideally solid experience with relevant construction laws, e.g. BImSchG (“Federal Immission Control Act”) permitting.
4. Experience with contracting with (general) contractors is a plus.
5. Excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of articulating complex concepts and solutions in a multi-cultural environment.
6. Semiconductor industry experience preferred.
7. Excellent German and English language skills required. Mandarin Chinese skill is not required but would be a plus.

1. Excellent German and English language skills
2. Conversational Mandarin is a plus

1. Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills to guide a legal team and collaborate effectively with diverse multi-cultural stakeholders.
2. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
3. Able to work under pressure with attention to detail and prioritize to navigate complex legal challenges in a dynamic environment.
4. Strategic thinker with the ability to provide proactive legal advice to support business goals.
