Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers’ products. As of 2024, TSMC serves more than 500 customers and manufactures over 11,000 products for high-performance computing, smartphones, the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and digital consumer electronics. It is the world’s largest provider of logic ICs, with an annual capacity of over 17 million 12-inch equivalent wafers in 2025. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and the Company began construction on a specialty technology fab in Dresden, Germany, in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.
Job Responsibilities
1. Lead the exploration and implementation of new analytical techniques to address challenges in developing leading nodes and advanced packaging technologies.
2. Develop and optimize new analysis protocols to enhance precision and reliability in material characterization.
3. Analyze and interpret complex data, providing actionable insights and comprehensive reports.
4. Collaborate with requestors from R&D and fab operations to support technology development and failure analysis efforts.
5. Ensure the lab operates efficiently, adhering to high standards of quality and accuracy.
Job Qualifications
1. Extensive experience and expertise in material analysis, particularly for semiconductor materials.
2. Hands-on experience with advanced analytical techniques such as SIMS, APT, XPS, AES, SPM, IR/Raman is highly preferred.
3. Proven track record of leadership or management in technical or analytical environments.
4. Solid domain knowledge of semiconductor processes, advanced packaging technologies, and statistical process control (SPC) is a strong plus.
5. Experience and skills in AI and IT applications for material characterization are highly valued.
6. Fluent in both written and spoken Mandarin and English.
7. Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or other STEM-related disciplines.
8. Total 10-20 years of working experience with 10+ years of relevant experience in material Analysis.
