Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers’ products. In 2023, the company served 528 customers with 11,895 products for high performance computing, smartphones, IoT, automotive, and consumer electronics, and is the world’s largest provider of logic ICs with annual capacity of 16 million 12-inch equivalent wafers. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and its ESMC subsidiary plans to begin construction on a fab in Germany in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join our team. This role serves as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to the business, driving people-focused initiatives that align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a global mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence and inspire leaders while fostering a positive employee experience.
Job Responsibilities
1. Enable Business: Drive and support the management team on organizational design, workforce planning, and people development; advise and act upon business strategy on people / organization topics; in close alignment with key stakeholders to develop the people agenda to support the business goals.
2. Optimize Talent Management: Act as an integrator among the employees, business, and HR; guide managers and employees through the annual HR program cycle including workforce planning, performance management, salary planning, employee development, and other HR annual programs.
3. Use Data to Influence Decision: Gather statistics and metrics (headcount, turnover, mobility, talent development, HR program execution) and provide analysis and recommendations based on the data, and lead talent strategy.
4. Empower Leaders: Coach business leaders through the employee development process including leadership succession planning and assisting managers create employee development action plans; act as a credible and trusted partner for senior leaders, including reflections on personal leadership.
5. Enhance Employee Experience: Oversee complex employee relations issues including fact gathering, analysis, recommendations, and performance improvement progress; coach managers on conflict resolution and addressing escalations; act as an employee’s advocate and know what is going on at the work floor.
6. Strengthen Company Culture: Develop and implement actions, in partnership with the management team, to enhance employee engagement initiatives focused on organizational climate and culture change; perform other duties as assigned or required to meet HR and Business initiatives.
Job Qualifications
1. MS degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2. 6~10 years of applicable HR experience; experience in a global, international fast paced tech organization.
3. Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS; an analytical skillset in combination with a very pragmatic and result-driven approach.
4. Professional level for both oral and written Chinese & English.
5. Able to step out of the comfort zone with strong self-resilience; have learning agility, team player spirit, and growth mindset.
6. Strong on organizational sensitivity and ethics; excellent communicator, convincing and emphatic; strong emphasis on independence, ability to manage complexity and leadership development through effectively influencing key stakeholders; customer oriented to provide swift, efficient guidance to employees and managers.
7. Agile ways of working highly desirable; affinity with talent management, change management and/or organizational design is appreciated; proven experience in leading and delivery of multiple projects and processes.
8. Must be able to accommodate up to 15% domestic travel based on business requirements.
