European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) is a joint venture between four technology leaders, TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP, to establish a state-of-the-art semiconductor fab in the heart of Europe. To help us build the foundation of our future fab in Dresden, we are looking for a highly motivated and passionate: 

ESMC Public Relations Lead

The role:

The work will be performed in partnership with TSMC leadership, ESMC management team and global PR team to support regional priorities. We expect the candidate to be stationed in Taiwan HQ for at least six months at first to get to know the culture, team and practice before the temporary office in Dresden is ready.
Job Responsibilities
1. Monitor and analyze media coverage and public opinion, sharing timely market insights to internal stakeholders.
2. Manage the development of company messaging and communications plans on pertinent topics impacting ESMC’s business and reputation, including issues-management strategies, reactive media and stakeholder statements, FAQs, and other communications and public policy deliverables.
3. Serve as a point of contact with key external stakeholders including the media in the local site community (Saxony).
4. Drive positive coverage of the site and local engagements, including developing stories and content for internal and external use to the company through local pitches.
5. Manage pressure points to avoid potential issues.
6. Serve as a trusted advisor to the management team for the local public image.
7. Serve as communications advisor in site emergencies. 
8. Partner with HQ team to understand when the corporate story takes priority over local stories and ensure alignment with global media and branding guidelines.
9. Drive a proactive approach to identifying emerging issues that may impact ESMC in the future.
Job Qualifications
Qualifications and Education:

1. Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing or a related field
2. Master's degree in in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing or a related field,additional certifications like Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) beneficial

Language Skills:

1. Excellent German and English language skills
2. Conversational Mandarin is a plus

Professional Skills:

1. Proven track record (10+ years) in public relations, media relations, or
related fields within multinational corporations, ideally within the
semiconductor industry or comparable high-tech manufacturing
sectors
2. Proven ability to develop and execute effective public relations
strategies, craft compelling messages, and adapt communication
tactics to achieve organizational objectives
3. Strong relationships with media professionals and influencers, along
with experience in securing positive media coverage in Germany

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

1. Media coverage and visibility measured by quantity, quality, and
sentiment of media mentions
2. Company sentiment and perception both on local society and
international level
3. Media relationships including strength and engagement with media
influencers

Location: Dresden, Germany.
