Job Responsibilities
Responsibility:
 
The Data Scientist will be responsible for analyzing user behavior data to identify potential physical security risks across the organization

Job description:

1. Develop data models and ETL processes to ingest and normalize data from various sources
2. Analyze user behavior data to identify potential physical security risks

This includes:

(1) Developing algorithms and models to detect anomalous behavior, such as unauthorized access, tailgating, and other security breaches
(2) Analyzing data from various sources, such as access control systems, surveillance cameras, and other security IoT devices
(3) Identifying patterns and trends in user behavior data that could indicate potential security risks

3.Work with physical security teams to mitigate identified risks

This includes:

(1)Collaborating with physical security teams to develop mitigation plans based on identified risks
(2)Providing recommendations to physical security teams on how to improve security measures based on data analysis
(3)Developing metrics to measure the effectiveness of security measures and reporting on them to senior management

4. Conduct research on emerging threats and physical technologies related to physical security
5. Conducting research on new data sources and analytical tools that could enhance the effectiveness of user behavior analysis
6. Stay current with emerging data science tools and techniques, such as machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics
7. Propose data-oriented solutions to drive optimization and improvement of security practices
8. Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
9. Present information using data visualization techniques
Job Qualifications
Basic Qualifications and Skills:
 
1. 5+ years of experience in manipulating data sets and building statistical models and user behavior analysis, has a master’s in computer science, Statistics, or another quantitative field
2. Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on information security
3. Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, decision trees, and clustering.) and experience with applications
4. Experience using statistical computer languages and solution (R, Python etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
5. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams

Others:

1. Experience with data security and privacy regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or APPI
2. Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or AWS
3. Certification in data science, such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate
4. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
5. Familiar with security framework, guideline and standard is a plus
